Privacy Policy

CheaperBills is a plain static website. There are no accounts, no logins, and nothing to sign up for. This page explains the only ways information about your visit is handled.

The comparison tools run in your browser

The electricity, gas, broadband and heating oil pages let you enter figures such as your annual usage in kWh, your meter type, or your county. Those figures never leave your device. The full price list is published inside the page itself, and the calculation runs entirely in your browser to re-sort what is already there. Nothing is submitted to us or to anyone else, and nothing you type is stored.

There are no quote forms, no lead-capture forms and no email signups anywhere on this site. We never ask for your name, address, eircode, MPRN, GPRN or bank details.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people use the site and which comparisons are useful. It sets cookies in your browser and records:

• the pages you view and how long you spend on them
• your approximate location, worked out from your IP address — typically the country or region, not your address
• your device type, screen size, browser and operating system
• how you arrived at the site, such as a search engine or a link on another site
• clicks on links that lead away from cheaperbills.ie, including links through to supplier websites

Google Analytics does not tell us your name, your postal address or your email address, and we make no attempt to work out who any individual visitor is. The data is processed by Google on our behalf — see the Google Privacy Policy for what Google does with it.

If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes a browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off across every site you visit: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Most browsers can also block analytics cookies or scripts directly in their settings.

Links to supplier websites

Plan listings link out to the supplier's own tariff page so you can check the price at source. These are ordinary links — we do not add referral codes or tracking parameters to them, and we do not route them through a redirect of our own. As noted above, Google Analytics does record that an outbound link was clicked. Once you are on a supplier's site you are covered by that supplier's privacy policy, not this one.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare's servers log requests — including your IP address, the page requested and your browser's user agent — for delivery, security and abuse prevention. We do not build our own logs on top of that, and we do not have a database.

Other third parties

There is nothing else loaded from elsewhere: no advertising scripts, no embedded videos or maps, no social media widgets, no comment system, and no external fonts or CDNs. The only third-party request the site makes is the Google Analytics script described above.

Changes

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated.
